Brezen

Pretzels or brezen became a daily breakfast for me in Munich because there were the most attractive amongst the rest that sat on a large cane bread basket every morning at the school’s kitchen. Sliced into half then an unhealthy layer of butter spread on, I thought I would not be tired of this salty and oily combination.

Well, after 6 weeks I cheated on the brezen and began coming to school with a chocolate croissant. How envious were those eyes that stare at my croissant while they spread butter on yet another brezen!
