Size Does Matter

What a universal phrase, applicable to the measure of manhood to restaurants and cafe. Well this is about the latter, sorry to disappoint.

While in KLCC doing some year-end shopping, I decided to pay a visit to Marmalade’s newest outlet called The Lawn. Many years ago when Marmalade was not yet Marmalade, tucked upstairs of a shophouse in Desa Sri Hartamas, my girlfriends and I relished our every outing there longing for their scrumptious salads and decadently-rich smoked salmon quiche.

For nostalgic reasons I ordered my perennial favourite again.

In short two bites later into the scorching hot quiche, which is a dead giveaway sign that this quiche, probably made a day or two ago, was zapped in the microwave. Nevermind. That can be discounted because in this day and age of fast food, it is still acceptable.

If I start comparing today’s quiche to the one years ago, the amount of salmon had been significantly reduced, the cream had a taste of very cheap quality dairy..I better stop here. It was only fair to give it another try, but less than ten bites later I finished my drink and continued with shopping, which was far more pleasant than the quiche.

Now with bigger, more successful branches, we had lost a gem. So size does matter. Or maybe I’m just a big fuss pot.
