Prague : Shopping break

Perhaps slightly tourist-ed out, I suggested to the Better Half to avoid diving right into the main tourist attractions: the castle and Charles Bridge. Soon I realized, there is just no way away from crowds of snaphappy sightseers (which I know we are a part of). Prague offers a dizzying array and variety for shopping. Endless shops offering Kafka t-shirts, bohemian crystal and marionettes dot most of the main pedestrian strips. However, there are also Zara, Mango and United Colours of Benetton like we have at home except they have 5 storeys of shopping each! And many storeys of shoes…

We window-shopped at first, along Parizska peering into Louis Vuitton and Ferragamo. What could we have afforded on this street? A slice of chocolate mousse cake, one cup of latte and a cone of mango gelato from Cremeria Milano in this exquisite European-style store.

That’s where we spotted the Sultan of Selangor who was strolling with his Canon SLR and armed with a map. We, being the ‘rakyat’ (common people), decided to shop elsewhere. Uncontested, we were no match with the Sultan.
