Half a day of biking through the city with a personal local guide. Many times I was pushing the bike instead of cycling as weaving through the thick pedestrian crowd was a big challenge. But with these wheels, I definitely saw more of Barcelona than I could have on my two feet.

We headed straight to La Barceloneta to munch our take-away lunch on the beach.

A short pitstop at Estacion de Francia, where all trains to and from France will arrive and depart.
Laying on the park, in front of the zoo, to watch these capoeiristas . My dear capoeira friend said to me just three days before, “You’ve got to hang your heart on your sleeves.” And based on those words, I came to Barcelona.

Wedding snapshots at Parc de La Ciutadella by a Chinese couple. The irony of it. My guess would be that they came here from China for these wedding album photos!

Where we stopped to chat with the guy introducing the Bicing concept. Well, I only got the abridged and translated version of the conversation anyway.

On our return back towards La Ramblas, the clouds rolled in and it started to pour. We were left stranded to people watch several times while waiting for the rain to recede. Four hours and almost entirely wet, the bikes went back to the rental store and we headed back on four wheels – with a cabbie who was rather unhappy with us getting his seats damp! As usual, I only get the translated and abridged version. With absolutely zero understanding of Spanish, I actually thought they were having a pleasant conversation.
