You’ve got to give up something to get something else. Life ain’t going to be fun if you get anything and everything you want, don’t you agree?
To soak the sun and breathe the air in Europe, I had to give up dining out. Surely there are many monumental restaurants and iconic cafes to sample. Unfortunately earning Malaysian Ringgit and spending in Euros and Pounds is just not quite the best deal. No fancy restaurants, not even the brasserie around the corner. Lunch was always an outdoor affair, thank goodness for the sublime autumn weather of clear skies, fresh breeze and shining sun.
There was endless choices when it came to deciding with cocoa bar to
provide continuous supply of energy in replacement for a proper lunch
meal. Zotter Schokoladen was one of the more interesting brands of chocolate that I picked out from a coffee merchant in Vienna.
Instead of the common plain dark chocolate bar, they specialize in flavoured chocolate and offer unheard of dark chocolate concoctions such as mango, banana, champagne and bacon. The usual chocolatiers that I have came across so far infused the chosen flavour into the cocoa. Dark chocolate infused with rose and pepper sits high on my list of all time favourite – sexy, romantic and spicy all in one.
For Zotter chocolates, a thin crust of chocolate wraps the flavoured filling so that the marriage of rose and basil paste with dark cocoa is consummated in your mouth. This company also offers custom designed chocolate wrappers. Send them your design, choose your flavour and you have your individual bar of exquisite cocoa!
