Into Italy mit dem Zug

When my train began to depart the platform in Munich Hauptbahnhof, a deep sense of sadness caught me by surprise. Perhaps due to my much cherished times in Berghof, the leaving of the train signified a closure of another chapter and marking a new chapter.

As I shared with my course mates, I emerged from the course with many uncertainties. We all crave to be somewhere familiar, comfortable and safe. I am nowhere near that place now, but yet it is exciting because in this unsafe juncture, the options and possibilities are endless.

Winter returned to Europe and snow accompanied me from D&T’s apartment through the German, Austrian and Italian Alps. I see the landscape change through my window seat. Pastel village homes sit beneath the magnificient mountains. I think I already like Italy.
