Munich : Haidhausen to Agatharied

D & T have had a long hard week at work and seemed to need some help to slide into a weekend mode. To make a big breakfast for me was a wonderful intention but would involve much more work. Instead, we went to their favourite café, Cafiko to grab their fabulous coffee. The rest of the morning I followed them as they made their way to their regular newsagent, organic grocer, dry cleaner and coffee merchant. It was really nice to enjoy the neighbourhood like a local. Shops, cafés and restaurants with individual character scatter around Haidhausen, the neighbourhood. Each place is usually manned by the owner itself, full with pride of their wares, products and food.

I returned with a lime squeezer while they purchased an egg poacher from this cramp shop called Bazar de Cuisine that sold anything and everything wonderful a kitchen should have.

Later in the evening, the first day of my residential anatomy course began. After meeting up with C at the Hauptbahnhof, we arrived in Agatharied forty five minutes later fulfilled with sweeping views of the Bavarian countryside.

Agatharied is a small Bavarian town. The farmhouse we will live in for the next 14 days is located atop a hill. In here, three generations of a family resides. Dinner was served shortly after we arrived and there we met the rest of our course mates, mostly from all over Europe.

The hills and the Alps from afar did make me feel very alive again. It’s good to be back in nature.
