VIP Roast Pork Dining | Jalan Pudu

siewyukk

Unknown to us, this plate of roast pork had been reserved a day before. Imagine our delight to find out as we sat down at Wong Mei Kei in Pudu. Y, who cleverly maintain good friends nearby eating spots such as this one, had one of his pal personally walk to the shop to place our order.

One kilogram(!!) of roast pork between five still equates to quite a lot of meat for each one of us. How did it taste? I cannot dispute all the raves I have been hearing from many people. It is good. Though our eyes popped out when we heard about the 1kg order, we conveniently forgot about our earlier surprise when the plate was empty not too long after.

But lunch didn’t end right then. Walking a block or two away, we found ourselves staring into a library of Sotheby’s auction catalogs and paintings of Chinese calligraphy with price tags of many, many zeros. For the next hour, over many cups of exquisite Chinese tea to wash down our sinful lunch, we were taken into the world of Chinese antiques from the dynasties in China.

I haven’t felt so Chinese in a long time.
