Roast Pork Loin with Umeboshi Plum Sauce

It’s a shameful, I know. Each time I am asked to clarify why do I still live with my parents, I cringe and put the blame on tradition. But it’s true – decent Chinese girls like us are too precious to be let out to live their own independent lives without their watchful parents, who are most probably watching out for the man good enough for their daughters.

In my household, the unwritten rule of dinner menu planning is three dishes to be served with rice. One of them must be green, another poultry or fish and the final usually beancurd or soup. Of course the crowned queen of menu planning would be my mother.
